Dhaka, Dec 25: Installation of IP cameras at various strategic locations including stations is underway to prevent vandalism in trains. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said this work will be completed within a week. He said this in response to a question from journalists after observing the security measures taken on the occasion of Christmas at Kakrail Church in the capital on Sunday.

The IGP said miscreants and vandals could not openly carry out anti-election activities in the name of various programmes. Because their programmes do not have public support. We are fulfilling the responsibility with the support of common people. We are common people, political figures, all agencies including intelligence agencies are working together.

He said, the law and order situation is completely under our control. Still, a couple of destructive incidents are happening. But the common people catch the saboteurs and hand them over to us. People are helping us.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that CC cameras are being installed at strategic places outside the compartments to prevent vandalism. We are installing IP cameras at various places including stations. This activity has started. We will try to complete this activity within a week. Besides, Ansar forces have been deployed to help the police and the police at various places to protect railway installations and other important installations. About 3,000 more Ansar members have been deployed recently. We are always ready to take action against vandals and miscreants," said the IGP.

In response to another question, the police chief said that we are working as per the instructions of the EC to maintain the normal situation during the election. Where incidents are occurring, legal action is being taken. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to worsen the situation of the country with the election or if anyone tries to attack the opponent.
