Dhaka, October 26: Detective police did not find any truth in the case filed under the Official Secrets Act against journalist Rozina Islam for 'attempted theft' of government documents. For this reason, investigating officer DB Police Inspector Morshed Alam Khan gave the final report by exonerating her from the case.

On Wednesday (October 26), Deputy Inspector (SI) Nizamuddin Fakir of the General Registration Branch of the concerned court said that on July 4, the investigating officer submitted the final report requesting the exemption of the journalist Rozina from the charges in the case. The final report of this case will be heard on November 15.

On May 17, 2021, journalist Rozina Islam went to the Ministry of Health to fulfill her professional duties. He was detained and harassed there for more than 5 hours. At one point he fell ill. He was brought from the secretariat to Shahbagh police station around 9 pm. A case was filed against him under the Official Secrets Act that night. The next day he was sent to jail in that case.

Journalists protested nationwide to demand his release. After 6 days, Rozina got bail on May 23 of that year.
