Hasan Foyez Siddique Judiciary will be headed by women one day: Chief Justice
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 9: Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique has said that one day in future, women will lead the judiciary.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a function held at the Supreme Court's conference room on the occasion of Women's Day on Tuesday (March 8).
The Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee and the Foundation for the People organized a program entitled 'The Role of Wise Women Lawyers in Improving the Quality of Government Legal Services in the High Court and Gender Equality Prioritizes Today for a Sustainable Future'.
Addressing women lawyers, the chief justice said there was nothing to be disappointed about. You are leading the country. Inshallah you will lead the judiciary one day.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim of the Appellate Division and Attorney General AM Amin Uddin addressed the function as special guests under the chairmanship of Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim, Chairman, Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee.
Registrar General of the Supreme Court Md. Bazlur Rahman, Member Secretary of the Legal Aid Committee Abanti Nurul, Advocate Ruma Sultana of the Foundation for the People and General Secretary of the Law Reporters Forum Muhammad Yasin spoke on the occasion.
Earlier in the afternoon, women lawyers hosted another event at the Supreme Court Garden. Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique addressed the function as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Justice Krishna Debnath of the Appellate Division.
Special guests at the programme were Justice Md Nuruzzaman of the Appellate Division, Justice Obaidul Hasan, Justice Borhan Uddin, Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Justice Naima Haider of the High Court Division, Vice Chairman of the Bar Council Yusuf Hossain Humayun and Member of the Bar Council Zahirul Islam Khan (Panna).
