Liberation War: International Criminal Tribunal finalises report of human rights violation against four in Satkhira

Dhaka, October 25: The International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) has finalized an investigation report against four people in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira on charges of murder, genocide, torture, arson and looting during the war of liberation.

One of the four accused has been arrested, the investigation agency's 79th report said at a press conference. The other three accused are still absconding. The original 111-page report against them has been finalized, as well as the 175-page report of four volumes as an attachment.

M Sanaul Haque, head of the investigation agency, outlined the report at a press conference at the agency's office in Dhanmondi on Monday (October 25th). The investigating officer (IO) of the case Shahjahan Kabir and other officials were present at the time.

Md. Akbar Ali Sheikh (70) has already been arrested in the case. The names of the three fugitives have not been released.

The investigation against the four accused started on November 24, 2019. The accused have been charged with torture, kidnapping, genocide and arson. The investigation report also alleges the murder of seven people.
