Suhrawardy Udyan March 7: Suhrawardy Udyan gears up for celebration
Dhaka, March 8, 2021: Two Ansars on duty are slowly hoisting the national flag by pulling the rope while standing in front of the eternal flame of Suhrawardy Udyan.
Although the national flag is hoisted every day of the year, this day is a little different than other days. Colorful lighting has been done inside and outside the garden along with the boundaries of Shikha Eternal.
Banners, posters and placards with portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are everywhere. This event is organized to commemorate the historic day of March 7 of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman 50 years ago.
In the presence of lakhs of people, the whole Bengali nation jumped into the freedom struggle inspired by Bangabandhu's enchanting speech.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Freedom Fighters, a huge gate with the inscription 'Joy Bangla' has been constructed at the two main entrances of Suhrawardy Udyan. On both sides of the road from Shahbagh Junction to TSC and Ramna Udyan opposite Engineering Institute to Shahbagh, various speeches of Bangabandhu's historic speech have been put up on billboards in different shapes. The red-green national flag can be seen on the grass on the west side of Shikha Chirantan and the inscription March 7 on the east side.
On Sunday morning, it was seen that Bangabandhu's historic speech was being broadcast in different areas of the capital. The ruling party, including the Awami League, has taken various programs to observe the organization day with due dignity.
