Dhaka, January 21: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has inaugurated 'Motijheel Park' in the capital's Motijheel. Speaking at the inaugural function on Wednesday (January 20th), the DSCC mayor said he wanted to make Dhaka an aesthetic city. This city will be the Dhaka of tradition, the beautiful-moving Dhaka. We will give the gift of improved Dhaka before 2041.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, is working relentlessly to realize our dream.

As part of that, he gave us the goal of building a better Bangladesh. As a result, we have undertaken a huge task to make Dhaka a better Dhaka. A developed Bangladesh under the leadership of the Prime Minister is no longer a dream. Standing in 2021, we can proudly say that we have been able to implement Digital Bangladesh under the leadership of the Prime Minister.

On the issue of waterlogging in the city, Tapas said, "We have started some infrastructure development in all the places where waterlogging took place last year and we are implementing it with our own funds." All the activities that we have implemented so far have been funded by ourselves and the activities that we have planned to do till next March will also be implemented with our own funds.

He said he would spend around Tk 100 crore on infrastructure development to alleviate the water shortage in the city. Besides, it will cost Tk 20 to 25 crore to remove the waste. The entire cost will be paid from the funds of DSCC.

The DSCC mayor said that after taking over the responsibility of the canal from WASA, the canal clearance drive and waste removal activities are underway. We are working hard ahead of the coming monsoon season. It is a very difficult task. The canals have been occupied for a long time, but we have undertaken a huge task of liberating them.
