Dhaka, March 13: MBBS admission test results for the 2022-23 academic year in government and private medical colleges have been declared. This time 1 lakh 35 thousand 800 students participated in the exam. Among them, 49 thousand 194 cleared the test. Accordingly, the pass rate is 35.34 percent.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque officially announced the result at an event organized at the old building of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in the capital's Mohakhali on Sunday (March 12).

The Health Minister said that one lakh 39 thousand students applied to participate in the medical admission test this year. Among them, the number of examinees in 18 venues of five centers in Dhaka city was 57 thousand 436. A total of 1 lakh 35 thousand 800 students participated in the examination. The pass rate is 35.34 percent.

Last Friday (March 10) the medical admission test was held from 11 am to 12 pm. The examination was conducted in 57 venues of 18 government medical colleges and one dental college across the country under the Directorate of Health Education. Evaluation is based on total 300 marks including 200 marks from MCQ and SSC and HSC examination of 100 marks. Four thousand 350 students have been selected for the government medical college. In the case of admission to government medical colleges, candidates are selected on the basis of 80 percent national merit and 20 percent district quota, except for the seats reserved for brave freedom fighters, tribals, and non-tribals.

The minister said, "In order to make the admission examination fair and transparent, the admission examination management committee consisting of famous teachers and doctors of the country, the oversight committee consisting of journalists and prominent people of the country were formed. An advisory committee consisting of experienced medical teachers has been formed. Besides, a separate committee is made for the equalization of marks. The members of the committee have completed all the work of the admission test as per the instructions."
