Meeting of outgoing High Commissioner of India with the President

Dhaka, 18 September 2022 : President Md. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy had a farewell meeting with Abdul Hamid.

On Wednesday (September 14) evening at Bangabhaban, the outgoing Indian High Commission met with the President's press secretary Md. Zainal Abedin. He said, during the meeting, the High Commissioner of India expressed his gratitude to the President for providing cooperation during his duties in Bangladesh.

At this time, the head of state said that the existing relationship between India and Bangladesh is historic. He mentioned the recent visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India and the visit of the President and Prime Minister of India to Bangladesh last year on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence and victory and said that this visit has started a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.

Abdul Hamid said that bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India have expanded in various fields including trade and investment. This relationship will be strengthened in the future. The President thanked the outgoing High Commissioner of India for the successful discharge of his duties.
