Bangladesh Metro Rail Metro rail in all big cities: PM
Own representative, Dhaka, January 5: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said why only in the capital Dhaka, metro rail should be in Chittagong too. She said there should be metro rail from Chittagong airport to the railway station, and all other big cities where airports exist should get metro rail.
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (January 4) approved 10 projects. The total cost of the projects is 11 thousand 211 crore 44 lakh rupees. The ECNEC meeting was held at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At that time the Prime Minister said these things.
Highlighting the Prime Minister's directives, Planning Minister MA Mannan said the Prime Minister has promised to build a metro rail not only in Dhaka but also in Chittagong. We know that preliminary work has already begun. I hope the concerned will send the metro rail construction project in Chittagong to ECNEC meeting soon. Then we will approve it too.
