Militant absconding from court: Two people including wife of militant Sohail remanded

Dhaka, April 8: The court granted a five-day remand to the two accused, including Fatima Tasneem Shikha, the wife of militant Sohel, who was arrested in the case of snatching two death-sentenced convicts from the premises of the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court. Husna Akhtar is the other accused who went on remand.

The two accused were produced in court on Saturday (April 8). After that, the investigating officer of the case, CTTC inspector Muhammad Abul Kalam Azad applied to take them on remand for ten days for the sake of proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Sheikh Sadir remanded them for five days.

Earlier on Friday (April 7) Fatima Tasneem Shikha, wife of militant Sohail and her accomplice Husna were arrested from Narayanganj. On November 20, militants abducted two convicts who were sentenced to death for murdering publisher Deepan by pepper spraying the police. At this time, the militants tried to snatch the accused Arafat and Sabur. Later, Arafat and Sabur were arrested from the spot. Court Inspector Julhas filed a case as plaintiff in the incident at Kotwali police station. Another 7 to 8 people have been named as unknown accused in the case.

The court granted a five-day remand to the two arrested including Fatima Tasneem Shikha, the wife of militant Sohail, in the case of snatching two militants sentenced to death by the militant organization Ansar Al Islam from the main gate of Dhaka's Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. Husna Akhter is the other accused who went on remand.

The two accused were produced in the court on Saturday. After that, the investigating officer of the case, CTTC Inspector Muhammad Abul Kalam Azad applied to take them on remand for 10 days for the sake of proper investigation of the case. In view of the application, the court remanded them for five days.
