Dhaka, Nov 24, 2020: Four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) may be signed at a meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi next month. Foreign Minister in this regard. AK Abdul Momen said, ‘Four MoUs could be signed during the virtual meeting. However, the agreement has not been finalized yet.

The Foreign Minister said that after the meeting, the two Prime Ministers could inaugurate several projects already completed under the Indian Line of Credit (LOC). The virtual summit between the prime ministers of the two neighboring countries will be held in the third week of December, 16 or 17.

Dr. Momen said Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen will visit New Delhi to finalize the agenda of the upcoming meeting before talks at the PM level.

"We are grateful to India that their Prime Minister will speak to our Hon'ble Prime Minister in the month of our victory," he said. Because our victory is also the victory of India. '

On the eve of the Sixth Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting at the Foreign Minister level in September. Momen hinted that some bilateral agreements could be signed at the next meeting of the prime ministers of the two countries.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Modi last held their bilateral meeting in New Delhi on October 5 last year. Though the Indian Prime Minister was scheduled to visit Bangladesh this year to attend the birth centenary celebrations of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the visit was canceled due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.

Foreign Minister Momen said Dhaka had invited Narendra Modi to visit Bangladesh on March 26 in person to attend the 50th anniversary celebrations of Bangladesh's independence. "We have invited him (Narendra Modi) and they have accepted the invitation in principle," he said.

Bangladesh and India will celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh's independence together next year. At present, excellent bilateral relations exist between Bangladesh and India. Leaders of both countries are calling it the 'Golden Chapter' and the 'Rock Solid'.

On several occasions, the Bangladesh Foreign Minister termed Bangladesh-India relations as' blood relations' and said, 'Our development is the development of India. Nothing can stand in the way of this (Bangladesh-India) relationship. '

New Delhi and Dhaka are expected to hold a meeting of the Joint River Commission (JRC) at the ministerial level this year to discuss unresolved issues related to water sharing. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Serum Institute of India and Beximco Pharma of Bangladesh on November 5 to supply 30 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Bangladesh on priority basis.
