Dhaka, November 5: Changes are being made in the selection and distribution process of the upcoming HSC, Alim and HSC Vocational exam papers to prevent question leakage. As a part of this, surveillance will be increased on central secretaries. Besides, the persons in charge of the examination must be physically present and complete the selection, collection and distribution of question papers during the performance of their duties.

No one can perform the duty through his nominee or representative. Again, if the Central Secretary sends his representative, he will not be given the question paper. The Inter-Education Coordination Board informed that such a decision has been taken so that the teachers-officials concerned with the examination cannot leak the questions.

Officials of the Education Board said that in the SSC-equivalent examination that ended this year, the incident of leakage of questions occurred through the center secretary in charge of a center in Vurungamari Upazila of Kurigram district under Dinajpur board. Law and order forces arrested everyone involved in this incident. Officials of the education administration also investigated and found the truth of the incident.

Those concerned say that changes are being made in the management system of the HSC-equivalent examination starting from November 6 to prevent the recurrence of such undesirable incidents. A representative of the District Treasury Officer cannot be appointed there during the distribution of question papers from the district. District Treasury Officer should be present at the time of distribution. The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) will perform the duties as the supervising officer of the examination management committee at the upazila level. The Ministry of Education has ordered UNO to be present compulsorily during the selection and distribution of questions at the upazila level. Earlier, a representative of UNO could be sent there.

According to the instructions, if he/she cannot be present at the workplace due to illness or important work, the Executive Magistrate of the District Commissioner's Office or the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of the Upazila has been ordered to be present.

When asked about this, the convener of the Inter-Education Coordinating Board and the Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar told Jago News that organizing the public examination is a huge undertaking. There may be some undesired errors in this. We take appropriate action against the culprit so that no one else does this mistake.
