More than 34 lakh students getting scholarships via bKash

This year, the stipend money of about 33 lakh students of secondary and higher secondary level and about 1 lakh 17 thousand students of graduation (pass) and equivalent level is reaching their bKash account.

These students and parents have chosen their bKash account as a medium to receive the scholarship. According to their decision, the accounts from the educational institutions are entered into the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust. Later this money is sent directly to the development account of students or parents through GTP (A2H) method. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this stipend distribution program at her office on Sunday. At that time, Education Minister Dipu Moni and Deputy Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury along with senior officials of the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Education were present.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said on the occasion, "There is no middleman where we give stipends today. It goes directly from the government to the recipient through the GTP system. Even starting from social security, we are using modern technology."

Prime Minister's Educational Assistance Trust's GTP (A2C) system has been disbursing stipends transparently, quickly and securely to students of secondary and higher secondary and graduate (pass) and equivalent levels for the past few years. Students can cash out from agent points spread across the country at no cost.

With the aim of building smart citizens in the 2041 Smart Bangladesh campaign, Prime Minister was sincerely thanked by all concerned for deciding to distribute all kinds of allowances including stipends, tuition fees and awards in a digital manner in order to ensure quality education for all. bKash is also very happy to be a part of this process.
