Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 5 August 2023: Information Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that the murderers of August 15, 1975 were not only afraid of Bangabandhu, but also of Bangabandhu's shadow. That is why they killed as many people as they could find in the family of the father of the nation, including the talented young Sheikh Kamal.

Hasan Mahmud said this to reporters after paying floral tributes at the tomb of Bangabandhu's eldest son Shaheed Sheikh Kamal on Saturday morning.

He said, "Unfortunately, BNP's processions are still chanting the slogan of ``Pachtiar Hathiyar Otho'' once again. By this, they are admitting that their leader Ziaur Rahman was involved in the August 15 murder. The purpose of cutting the cake on Khaleda Zia's fake birthday on August 15 is that brutal murder. Enjoy. This apathy from the country needs to stop forever."

Paying deep respect to the memory of Sheikh Kamal and seeking forgiveness of his soul, the Broadcasting Minister said, "The talented young Sheikh Kamal participated in the Great Liberation War and fought for the motherland. A multi-talented sports and political organizer, cultural worker, national cricketer Sheikh Kamal founded Abahani Club. The originator of modern football in the country."

The information minister said, "Had he lived, he would have given a lot to the nation, including leading the country. Such a talented young man was killed on August 15, 1975 at the age of 26. We wish his soul eternal rest."
