Dhaka, Feb 9: The process of repatriating members of Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) and the army, who fled to save their lives in Bangladesh due to the ongoing conflict in Myanmar, is underway.

Seheli Sabrin, director general of the Public Diplomacy Branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the Myanmar government will send a ship to take them back by sea.

She said this at the weekly media briefing organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

When asked whether the country's government has sent a ship to take back the BGP and military personnel of Myanmar, Seheli Sabrin said that the Myanmar government will inform the route plan of the ship sent by them. Will tell the details of which ship will come.

She said that the entire process has not been completed yet. But the Myanmar ships will go through deep seas, so there was an issue of security, that doesn't seem to be that much of an issue.

In response to the questions whether any compensation has been sought from the country for the casualties in Bangladesh in the internal conflict of Myanmar, to whom the affected families will seek justice, the diplomat said, "This is a sad incident. As a humanitarian state, Bangladesh is very sensitive about this issue. A strong protest has already been given to the Myanmar government in this regard. Claims for compensation may be reviewed. When asked who is really in possession of Rakhine State now, Sehli Sabrin said it is their internal issue. How can I say this!"

When asked whether a strong protest against the death of a Bangladeshi in Myanmar's internal conflict will be sent to the Arakan Army or the junta government, Seheli Sabrin said, "We have sent a protest from the Bangladesh government to the Myanmar government."

Currently, 11,444 Chinese citizens are living illegally in Bangladesh. When asked whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has any information on this matter, she said that the matter is under the purview of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Only they can give specific information about this.
