Mymensingh-Comilla Mymensingh-Comilla City Election Polling Station Preparation Instructions
The Election Commission (EC) has ordered that all polling stations scheduled for the upcoming Comilla and Mymensingh City Corporation elections be prepared by February 1.
On Saturday, the instructions in this regard, signed by the senior assistant secretary of EC election management wing Raushan Ara Begum, have been sent to the concerned field level officials.
According to the instructions, the general election of Mymensingh City Corporation (MOSIC) and the by-election for the post of mayor of Comilla City Corporation (CUSIC) will be held on March 9. On the same day, by-elections will be held for the vacant posts of Councilors of General Constituency No. 11 of Dhaka South City Corporation, Councilors of General Constituencies No. 8 and 22 of Barisal City Corporation.
The senior district/district election officer has been requested to prepare the list of polling stations as per the instructions and send two width hard copies (including soft copy) of the prepared list to the election support-1 branch by February 1 through the concerned regional election officer.
As per the rules, the city corporation has to hold by-elections within 90 days of the post of mayor becoming vacant.
All polling stations in both the cities will be conducted through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) system.
