Dhaka, Jan 23: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the naysayers have now understood that Bangladesh has had a beautiful election.

The minister said this at the Chinese government's 'Great Wall Commemorative Medal' handing over ceremony in the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Monday. Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen handed over the medal.

The minister said, "Many countries have made many comments about the election. But our friend Chinese government has always said that the election is an internal matter of Bangladesh. We have no comment on this."

"Bangladesh will decide, they will conduct the election," he said, "Many people have made many adverse comments, I think they have now understood that Bangladesh has had a beautiful election, under the leadership of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and through our Election Commission."

Stating that the election has not been questioned by any country so far, Asaduzzaman Khan said, "So we think that our election commission has gifted the nation with a beautiful election. We have excellent relations with foreign countries and other neighboring countries. I think it will be stronger. You have seen how the Chinese ambassador has given us their support."

Regarding the cooperation we have sought from China, the Home Minister said, "We are always concerned about cyber security. We are always looking for cooperation in order to prevent all crimes in transnational crime, international crime."
