Nearly 1.5 lakh posts created in the administration in 32 months

Dhaka, September 7: One lakh forty thousand eight hundred and sixty posts have been created in the administration in about 32 months from January 2019 till now. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said this while addressing a BSRF (Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum) Dialogue program at the Media Center at the Secretariat on Tuesday (September 6). The BSRF hosted the dialogue.

"We have created a large number of posts in various departments and ministries. The job of creating posts is done by the Ministry of Public Administration. From January 2019 to last September 5, we have created 1,40,860 in the administration. 7,948 posts have been cleared for recruitment. 4,726 vehicles have been included in TO&E. The Ministry of Public Administration has agreed to abolish 48,510 posts. During this period, a total of 10,110 cadre officers have been appointed, including 1,049 through the 37th BCS, 2,034 through the 38th BCS and 6,727 through the 39th BCS," the minister said.

The state minister said, "From January 7, 2019 to September 5, 2019, 5,744 cadres of the cadre service have been trained at home and 48 officers abroad. We have updated the training module of BCS Administration Academy."

Farhad Hossain said that 19 softwares are being developed to work faster using the benefits of digitalization.

"We are working towards the goal of serving the common man with the respect he deserves," he said. That is why our plan is to create a timely posting policy. We want to build an efficient, accountable administration," he said.

Chief Information Officer Md Shahenur Mia was present at the dialogue chaired by BSRF President Tapan Biswas and conducted by General Secretary Masudul Haque.
