Neela Murder Neela Murder: Mijaz's father-mother arrested
Dhaka: Mizanur's father and mother have been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a 10th class student named Neela Roy in Savar.
Earlier on Tuesday (September 22), police arrested a young man named Selim Paloyan (25), an associate of Mizanur Rahman. Later, the police sent him to the court for a seven-day remand, showing him the accused in the case.
The information was given in a press release signed by Additional Superintendent of Police Zamir Uddin, commander of RAB-4 CPC-2, on Friday (September 25) at around 1am. Earlier, they were arrested from Charigram area of Manikganj Sadar Police Station around 8pm on Thursday.
The arrested Abdur Rahman is the son of late Haji Ayub Ali of Dakshin Para area of Ward No. 4 of Savar and wife of the arrested Nazmun Nahar Siddique Abdur Rahman. The detainees are the parents of Mizanur, the main accused in the murder case. They are the tenants of Shah Saidul Alam's house in Ward 4 of Savar.
According to the RAB, on September 21, the day after the shocking Neela murder in Savar, the victim's father Narayan Roy filed a murder case against Mizanur Rahman, his father Abdur Rahman and mother Nazmun Nahar. However, the accused were on the run from then on. Mizan's parents were arrested in the latest operation. Attempts are being made to arrest the main accused Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury.
Additional Superintendent of Police Zamir Uddin, commander of RAB-4 CPC-2, said Mizanur, the main accused in the Sapphire murder case, and her parents were on the run. They were later raided and arrested. The arrested are being handed over to Savar Model Police Station.
