US Ambassador New US envoy wants to enhance relationship between Washington-Dhaka
Dhaka, 13 February 2022: Newly appointed US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter D. Hass has said that he is keen to work with Dhaka to take the relations between the two countries further.
He made the remarks at an exchange of views with officials of the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC on Friday. This was stated in a press release received here on Sunday.
Hase, the new US ambassador to Bangladesh, visited the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, D.C., and hopes to arrive in Dhaka in early March to assume new responsibilities. Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States M Shahidul Islam and other officials of the mission welcomed the new envoy.
During the talks, the two ambassadors pledged to work closely to further strengthen the friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United States. They stressed the importance of greater engagement on both sides in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-US diplomatic relations and the adoption of mutually beneficial programs and initiatives.
Earlier, Ambassador Haas laid a wreath at the bust of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the embassy premises. Ambassador Hess is the successor to Ambassador Earl R. Miller.
