No COVID deaths in last 3 days, detection rate at 1.69

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 17: No one died of coronavirus in the country in 24 hours from 8 am on Wednesday to 8 am on Thursday. This is the third consecutive day Bangladesh has seen no Covid-related deaths.

Earlier on Tuesday (March 15) and Wednesday (March 16) the country reported zero Covid deaths. Till date, 29,112 people have died of corona in the country. However, in the last 24 hours, 233 new cases were detected. With this, the total number of detected patients in the country reached 19 lakh 50 thousand 357. In contrast to the sample testing, the detection rate in the last 24 hours was 1.69 percent.

This information was given in the regular press release on Corona situation issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (March 17).

Earlier on Wednesday (March 16), the DGHS said that 172 new cases had been detected in 24 hours from 8 am on Tuesday to 8 am on Wednesday. In contrast to the sample testing, the daily detection rate was 1.38 percent. However, no Covid-related fatality was reported during the period.

Meanwhile, the DGHS said 14,152 samples were collected and 13,791 samples were tested in 878 laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours. A total of one crore 36 lakh 92 thousand 423 samples have been tested in the country till date. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the detection rate has been at 14.24 percent in contrast to the sample testing.

In the past 24 hours, 1,561 people have recovered from Corona. With this, 18 lakh 67 thousand 161 people have recovered so far in the country.
