Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 9: The government has lifted the obligation of Corona RT PCR test to enter Bangladesh. People can enter Bangladesh through the airport only after taking the full dose of corona resistant vaccine.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said in a circular on Tuesday evening.

Sources said the order will be effective from Tuesday (when the order was issued). If a passenger entering Bangladesh has a full dose of vaccine and if he / she has a vaccination certificate with him / her during the journey, he / she does not need to undergo Covid RT PCR test. However, passengers who do not have a vaccination certificate will have to go to the airport with a negative RT PCR report with the test done 72 hours before departure. However, those who go to other countries from Bangladesh have been instructed to abide by the travel restrictions of those countries.

The Civil Aviation Authority further said if any of the the passengers who has been vaccinated or not has any signs or symptoms of corona, the airport authorities will take him/her to the hospital for corona test. If he/she tests Corona positive, he/she will have to stay in isolation for seven days in a government-designated hotel at his own expense. Children under 12 do not have to undergo any corona test. But they have to follow other instructions regarding health.

In its last circular issued in December, 2021, the Civil Aviation Authority had made the RT PCR test mandatory. In that circular of the authority, any passenger entering Bangladesh was asked to take a RT PCR negative certificate by having a corona test 48 hours before entry.
