Dhaka, 20 February 2022: Since 2024, there will be no science, arts and commerce department in the ninth grade.

All students will be educated in the same curriculum. Education Minister Dipu Moni made the remarks at a textbook distribution function for the new curriculum at the NCTB building here on Saturday.

Dipu Moni said that the purpose of the new curriculum is not only knowledge but also acquisition of skills. Now piloting will continue in 72 educational institutions. If successful, it will be implemented in the sixth and seventh grade from 2023. He said the new curriculum will be implemented in 2024 in the eighth and ninth classes. As such, since 2024, the Department of Science, Arts and Commerce will no longer exist.

"We will see if the students are becoming proficient according to the new curriculum," he said. Whether he is developing as a right person according to Bangabandhu's ideology. When we get feedback from students on the implementation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we will feel successful.

He said previous courses did not have directions to the right destination. A new curriculum has been formulated to implement that instruction. We want to move forward with a new process after a long time. I wish everyone's cooperation in this case. In this case, training of teachers and laboratory will be required. It is better if an organization can manage it on its own. We will too.

At the beginning of the program, the Minister of Education handed over the books to the students of the three institutions. The rest of the organizations were involved in the online platform 'Zoom'. The heads of the institutions handed over the books to the students of their respective institutions.

NCTB member (curriculum) Professor. NCTB Chairman Prof. Farhadul Islam, NCTB Secretary Nazma Akter, Educationist Syed Manjurul Islam, Professor Dr. of Education and Research Institute of Dhaka University were present on the occasion. Tariq Ahsan and others.
