Dhaka, Jan 1: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that there is no information about sabotage around the polling day of the National Assembly elections on January 7. At the same time, he said that intelligence forces are alert to prevent assassinations.

He said this while talking to reporters in his office at the secretariat on Sunday.

When asked whether there is any threat of sabotage on polling day, the Home Minister said, BNP has always been doing sabotage. They are born with sabotage. So they will do it. Our security forces are alert about it. Our intelligence forces are also working.

He said, because our intelligence agencies are working properly, they (saboteurs) could not have much impact in these activities. I think the saboteurs will be resisted by the people of this country. People will not give them any shelter. People don't want to go back to darkness.

Stating that there is no advance warning from the intelligence agencies so far, the minister said, nothing has come to us so far. Our law enforcement forces are working on the information provided by our intelligence forces. So far we have not received any news.

"BNP can carry out assassinations" - Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader's expression of such apprehensions, the Home Minister said, the Minister of Road Transport and the General Secretary of our party must have more information. Because he does politics. He has enough information. He said based on that information. But our word is that our intelligence forces are alert. We are trying to catch them before such incidents happen.
