Obaidul Quader No opportunity to show generosity in fresh Rohingya infiltration: Obaidul Quader
Dhaka, Feb 8: Awami League general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said there is no opportunity to show generosity in the fresh Rohingya infiltration into Bangladesh amid the ongoing conflict in Myanmar.
He said, "We will not allow Rohingyas to enter Bangladesh again. Earlier, the border was opened in a show of generosity. Now there is no opportunity to show that generosity."
Obaidul Quader said this to reporters at Setu Bhaban in Dhaka's Banani on Wednesday afternoon.
The Awami League general secretary said, "I am talking to the concerned people so that we do not have any fear or concern in Myanmar's internal conflict. I am discussing with China and India in particular. Myanmar's ambassador to Bangladesh was summoned. They said - those who fled to Bangladesh in the conflict, they will take them back."
Obaidul Quader said, "Rohingyas have become a burden for us. The international aid for the Rohingya has decreased a lot. How long will we bear this burden in such a situation?"
"It is Myanmar's own problem. Arakan Army is their country's problem. What they do with their internal affairs is up to them. I will talk to those who are concerned so that we don't have any fear or concern for their problem," Quader added.
