Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 10: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said some people were alleging that religious education was being removed from the curriculum. It happened last year, because of the Corona situation. Go through our syllabus. There is no question of removing religion from the curriculum.

He said this at the Shanti Maha rally organized by Anjumane Rahmaniya Mainiya Maizvandaria on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) at Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday (October 9).

On Sunday morning, Anjumane Rahmaniya Mainiya Maizvandaria held a procession in the capital to celebrate Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). In the morning, the procession started from Suhrawardy Udyan. After that, a peace rally was started at Suhrawardy Udyan. Renowned scholars, Islamic thinkers, and researchers of the country and abroad spoke at the peace meeting chaired by Maulana Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al Hasani of Maizvandaria Darbar Sharif.

Bangladesh Welfare Party Chairman Syed Muhammad Ibrahim said in the rally, five subjects are being removed from the Bangladeshi education policy. Classes will be taught, but there will be no board exams. Religious education is one of the five subjects that have been excluded. The people of this country appeal to the Prime Minister, to keep Islamic education alive in this country, do not exclude religious education from the board examination.

In reference to Syed Muhammad Ibrahim's claim, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said that there were no classes last year due to Corona. Due to which, the exam was very short. But religious education was not excluded. He (Syed Muhammad Ibrahim) has misunderstood. Please go through our syllabus. There is no question of excluding religion. Those who lie, also want to lie in the name of Islam.

Misbahur Rahman Chowdhury, chairman of Bangladesh Islami Oikyazot, said that the Prime Minister of our country is the only Prime Minister of the Muslim world who has openly said that she will govern her country in the light of the Charter of Madina. Why did she say this? There is no difference between the Madina Charter and the Constitution of Bangladesh. We also want our country to be governed on the basis of the Madina Charter.
