No respite for criminals, says Home Minister

Dhaka, October 27: Anyone involved in the beating of a naval officer will be brought under the law, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the remarks while talking to reporters at his residence in Dhanmondi on Monday (October 26).

On Sunday night (October 25), Wasif Ahmed Khan, a naval officer, was beaten after Irfan Salim- Son of Dhaka-7 MP Haji Salim- got out of a government vehicle with the words 'Member of Parliament'.

Although there was a GD in the incident at night, a case was filed against seven people including Haji Salim's son on Monday morning.

Drawing attention to the incident, the home minister said, "If anyone commits a crime, he will be brought under the law. Whoever he is. Whether he is a public representative or whoever. He must face the law."

Meanwhile, RAB has arrested Mohammad Irfan Salim, son of Haji Selim, in a case filed against him for being involved in the incident.
