Dhaka, September 17: Bangladesh does not want war on Myanmar issue, wants to solve it peacefully. However, if it does not work, it will be reported to the United Nations. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal said this in response to journalists' questions at an event at Dhaka Ahsania Mission in Dhanmondi on Saturday.

The Home Minister said that despite the repeated warnings from Bangladesh at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they (Myanmar) did not keep their word. He said that the efforts of Bangladesh will continue, and the conflicts in their country should remain within their borders. Border Guard Police (BGP) is in constant communication with Myanmar's border guards.

The Home Minister said that Myanmar will remain restrained in the future and Bangladesh will not join the war. Bangladesh wants a peaceful solution to this problem. The minister also said that the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is strict in preventing Rohingyas from entering Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, on the Tumbru border of Naikxyongchari upazila of Bandarban, the sound of gunfire is being heard again and again. The border dwellers are scared again. Firing has been ongoing since Friday evening across the Ghumdhum border in Myanmar's Rakhine state. A Rohingya teenager was killed when a mortar shell fired from a mountain in Rakhine state fell on the Line of Zero opposite the Tumbru border. Five Rohingya including a child were injured. The teenager died at Kutupalong MSF Hospital in Ukhia around 9:30 pm on Friday.

Nurul Islam, a farmer in the Tumbru area of the Ghumdhum border, said that the Myanmar security forces did not know the exact location when they fired. They are not held accountable if they shoot. Since shelling has stopped for three days, many farmers have gone to the fields in their sleep, but no one is coming from today. Farmers are suffering from the fear of mines on the border.

Local representatives said that since August 13, the Arakan Army (AA), a pro-independence armed group, has been fighting with the country's security forces in the Walidong and Khy Mong Sek hills of Myanmar's Rakhine State, opposite the Tumbru border. The war, which has been going on for more than a month, shows no signs of stopping. On the contrary, Myanmar is increasing its activities in the 271 km land and water border.

For three days, three ships of the country's navy began operations in Myanmar waters opposite St. Martin (to the east). However, Bangladesh Navy and Coast Guard are also active in St. Martin waters.
