Own correspondent, Dhaka, 17 February 2021: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that no one will be allowed to destroy harmony in a country of communal harmony. He said that the mutual harmony of all religions will be further strengthened in the days to come.

Sheikh Hasina said this in a message given on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. On this occasion, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes and congratulations to all members of the Hindu community.

Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. In Bangladesh, people of all religions and communities have complete freedom to practice their own religion. He said that people of all religions, irrespective of race, religion and caste, have been living together in harmony in this land for thousands of years. Our constitution guarantees equal rights to people of all religions and castes. In this country, religion is everyone's festival. We all celebrate the festivals of all religions with joy.

The Prime Minister said Goddess Saraswati is a symbol of truth, justice and enlightenment. Possessor of knowledge, words and melody. On the occasion of worshiping Goddess Saraswati, he called upon all members of the Hindu community to devote themselves to the progress of the country by becoming novices in acquiring knowledge.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina appealed to all to observe the puja in this critical time of coronavirus by observing hygiene rules and maintaining social distance.

Inspired by the spirit of the great war of liberation, the Prime Minister called upon the people to build the golden Bangladesh of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream by keeping the non-communal spirit intact.
