Dhaka, April 22: Eid market is going on. Crowds of shoppers flock to the store to buy items of choice for themselves and loved ones. The loud presence of buyers and the shouts of sellers since morning. All in all, the capital's New Market has regained that familiar form. On Friday (April 22) morning, the image of New Market and the surrounding area was seen. Traders are desperate to capture the Eid market at this moment. They said that they have made extensive preparations considering the demand of the buyers in the retail market.

According to cloth merchants of Dhanmondi Hawkers Market, Gauchia Market and Chandni Chowk Shopping Complex in New Market area, sari and three piece are the most sold items on Eid. Considering the demand of the buyers, they have ample stock of cotton sari including weaving silk and cotton sari, Benarsi sari, Rajshahi silk sari, Pabna sari, silk sari, Manipuri sari, katan sari, Tangail silk sari.

At the same time, there is also a collection of Three Piece, Two Piece and One Piece of various domestic and foreign brands. There are also Punjabi, pajamas, fatwa, burqa, hijab, orna and children's clothes.

Hamidul Azad, a sari trader at Dhanmondi Hawkers Market, said that although there was demand in the wholesale market at the beginning of Ramadan, retail buyers are coming more at the moment. All kinds of people come here to shop. The price has been kept thinking of everyone. "I have sari in my shop starting from Tk 700 to tk 20,000. As Eid approaches, the presence of people will increase.

New Market is one of the favorite places of the people of the capital to buy various products including sari, cloth, Punjabi, shirt, T-shirt, shoes, cosmetics, jewelery or household items. Crowds of people flock to this area at all times of the year. Apart from this, the attendance of people increases several times more than usual due to other festivals including Pohela Boishakh, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Puja.

However, due to the ban on corona in the last two years, the traders here could not take advantage of the trade. Many people have lost their capital due to the closure of shops for a long time. All in all, they hoped to achieve the target by cutting losses ahead of this year's Eid.

On April 19 and 20, New College traders and shop workers clashed with Dhaka College students. The traders are claiming that they had to face terrible losses as the market was closed for those two days.
