Not just Ambassadors, police to be removed from protection of minister; Ansar to take over

He said this in response to questions from journalists at an event titled '14 years of development of Dhaka 12 parliamentary constituencies' at Tejgaon in the capital on Monday.

The interior minister said, "So far, the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, the United States, Saudi Arabia and India were given extra security. There were police in front and behind the car. We thought that instead of the police, the guard regiment made from Ansar forces would be in charge of security. And if the ambassador of any country wants this facility. We will give them too. That is our decision."

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "We need policemen for many tasks. It is not possible to increase the number of policemen for the time being. On the other hand, the elections are coming. We have removed the policemen from that security after thinking about everything." He said that not only the policemen responsible for the security of the ambassadors are being removed, but the policemen responsible for the security of the ministers will also be removed.

The guard regiments of the Ansar battalions that have been formed are very efficient. They are specially designed for such security. Gradually they will also be given responsibility for the security of KPI-affiliated establishments.

Stating that there is no enmity with anyone, the home minister said, "We have a security force guard regiment that is very strong and equipped with modern equipment. It has been created from the Ansar battalion under the direction of the Prime Minister. No matter how much VIP protocol or protection is called - even the security issues at the residences of ministers. It will be given to them (Ansar). I have created a regiment for this, its number should also be increased."
