Own correspondent, Dhaka, 2 April 2024: Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder said that there is nothing above the court. If the court decides we have to accept it. Again we make many decisions that do not hold up in court. However, the issue will be discussed in the syndicate meeting as well.

When asked about the direction issued by the High Court suspending the notification issued by the university administration banning student politics at the Vice-Chancellor's office on Monday, he said that he has not yet received a copy of the verdict. He also said that if he gets it, he will talk to the lawyer and take the next step.

Earlier, several members of the country's oldest professional organization, Engineers Institution, Bangladesh (IEB) President and Awami League's Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur and General Secretary Engineer SM Manjurul Haque Manju met the Vice Chancellor at BUET. All of them are alumni of BUET.

BUET Vice-Chancellor said that the President, General Secretary and Committee Leaders of the Institution of Engineers came. There were also former students of BUET. They are always aware of Buet. They think about the future of their educational institution Buet. Especially thinking about the future of engineers. They said that after passing from BUET, the students should work for the country, be motivated in the spirit of liberation war and not leave the country after passing from here.

The vice-chancellor said, they want students not only to study. They will think freely, learn literature, learn politics, they will know about their country. Their future plan will be to work from country to country. Otherwise he will think that I don't know the country but only the BUET campus. They want to say that a plan needs to be made in this regard. Where students can do free thought politics along with studies.
