Dhaka, 18 December 2022 : 7-8 shops and godowns were burnt down in the hardware market of Imamganj Bazar in Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka in the capital.

Local residents and shopkeepers claim that there has been a loss of several crores of rupees. On Sunday (December 18) at 2 o'clock in the night, the victims of Imamganj Bazar Lane in Chawkbazar of Old Dhaka said these things.

Imamganj Bazar Lane has several shops of various types. There are also several residential buildings. There are 7-8 hardware shops and godowns on one side of the market. All these shops were burnt down in the fire incident on Saturday (December 17) night. Local residents and shopkeepers claim that several crores of rupees have been damaged.

Local resident Maqsud Ahmed Tushar said that some hardware shops caught fire. The fire spread in no time. This was made possible by the presence of tar drums in the store. Khosru Ahmed, who lives with his family in a residential building next to the shops, told Jago News that he suddenly saw smoke entering the house. I saw a fire burning below. Run out. There were 8-10 shops and godowns in two rows. Everything is burnt.

Everything in the hardware store was expensive. Another witness named Salim Reza said that the fire broke out suddenly. Within moments it spread to several stores. Although no one was seriously injured, a lot of money was lost.

Meanwhile, the owner of Loknath Hardware Nitai Chandra Das own shop is said to have been completely burnt down. His only possession is in the store, and there is nothing left. So he is pretty speechless now.
