One arrested over rape of Khulna woman gluing her eyes

The arrestee has been identified as Samad. On Tuesday (February 13) night, the police took him into custody for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Obaidur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Paikgacha Police Station said, "A case was registered in this incident at night. In this incident, the victim's husband filed a case as a plaintiff."

The housewife told the mediapersons, "On February 11, I fell asleep after dinner. Then I don't know anything else. Now I see that my ears are torn. Someone took the earrings. But there was Tk 6,000 in my bag, that money is still there. There was nothing in my neck.”

The victim's daughter said, "My mother has been talking since morning. But he can't recall anything."

According to the victim's family sources, the housewife's husband deals in raw materials. He was out of the house on Sunday night. Their two sons and daughters also stay outside for studies.

On Sunday night, miscreants climbed onto the roof by climbing the neighboring trees and entered the house. After that, the miscreants tied the hands and feet of the housewife and put glue on her eyes and face and raped her. At that time, they looted two lakhs of cash and gold ornaments from the house.

Neighbors rescued the woman and took her to the hospital after hearing the woman's cries in the early morning.

The husband of the victim housewife said that the stairs of the roof of their one-storey house were open. The miscreants entered from there.

Khulna Assistant Superintendent of Police D-Circle Md. Saiful Islam said that the incident site was visited after receiving the information. The matter is under investigation.

OC Obaidur Rahman said, "The housewife was found with her hands and feet tied. A high-level investigation has been initiated into whether rape took place or whether glue was applied to the eyes and mouth.”
