Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 26: The government has set a target of vaccinating one crore people in the country in a single day. The mass vaccination drive has started this (Saturday) morning.

The first dose of vaccine is being administered today without birth registration certificate and national identity card. Those who have not been able to get vaccinated for so long due to lack of these documents or other problems are crowding the vaccination centres today. Men and women of all age groups are coming to take vaccinate. As a result, a huge crowd has been seen at the vaccination centrs since early morning.

Malibagh Chowdhurypara Government Primary School is one of the few centres in the capital where this mass vaccination drive is being conducted. Residents of the area flocked to the centre before the vaccination began.

Speaking to those standing in queue at the vaccination centr, it is learned that some of them came and stood in line at dawn. However, no one was vaccinated before 10 am. as the drive started after 10 am. at the centre.

Habib, who came to the center to get vaccinated, said he came to the centre immediately after the Fajr prayers. "Many people came and stood in line before I came. I have been standing in line for over six hours. I don't understand how long I have to stand in line," he said.

Hajera, another person who came to get the vaccine, said he had lost his national identity card, and he does not have birth certificate. "Because of this I have not been able to get vaccinated before. Now vaccinations are being given without national identity card. So I visited the centre today to get vaccinated. No matter how hard it is, I will take the vaccine today," he said.

Amena, a garment worker, said that she neglected before to take the vaccine. "It is difficult to get a leave working in the garments sector. But now there is pressure from garments company to get vaccinated. Again, I hear that the first dose of Covid vaccine will not be available after today. That is why I have come today to take vaccine today," she said.
