Over 67 lakh doses of coronavirus vaccine administered across Bangladesh on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's birthday

Dhaka, September 29: On Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 75th birthday on Tuesday, more than 67 lakh doses of the coronavirus vaccine were given across the country.

A total of 67,58,992 doses were administered throughout the day. The first dose was given to 66,25,123 people, while 1,33,869 people received the second jab. The target was administer 75 lakh doses on that day.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 39,771 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca, 11,956 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, 66,95,829 doses of Sinopharm and 11,436 doses of the Moderna vaccines were administered.

The country has so far used 4,81,39,752 doses of the coronavirus vaccine. Among them, 3,15,06,017 people have received the first dose of the vaccine, while the second dose has been received by 1,66,33,735 people.

A total of 1,71,00,730 men and 1,44,05,287 women have received the first dose.

The second dose has been administered to 95,29,109 men and 71,04,626 women.

Among these, 1,27,90,888 doses of the Covishield (Oxford-AstraZeneca) have been used.

A total of 1,68,966 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, 3,01,37,847 doses of Sinopharm and 50,42,051 doses of the Moderna vaccines have been used by authorities.

The DGHS said, Bangladesh has, so far, received a total of 5,70,85,080 doses of the coronavirus vaccine. The country currently has 64,45,328 doses of the vaccine.

According to data, 4,64,65,499 people have registered for the vaccine till 5:30 pm on Tuesday. A total of 4,58,30,783 people have registered with the help of NID, while 6,34,716 people have used the Passport
