Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 15 October 2023: P-20 Conference will play a role in advancing women by overcoming the existing challenges, said Speaker of Bangladesh National Parliament Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

She said, women are an important part of economic and social progress. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the women of Bangladesh have set a shining example of economic and political empowerment.

The speaker said these things while participating in the discussion meeting titled 'Mainstreaming Gender Equality from Women's Development to Women-led Development' of the ninth G-20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit (P-20) held in New Delhi on Saturday, October 14.

Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury said, "From entrepreneurship to housework, women are making a mark of success. Women's empowerment should be ensured at the policy-making level as well as women's leadership should be welcomed. It is important to establish gender equality in every sphere of life. Sustainable development through inclusive progress. Achieving is possible. In this regard proper education of girls is important. A sustainable economy can be achieved if women are included in the mainstream of the economy."

She also said, "Women are the wealth of the country. Everyone should cooperate from the social and state level in eliminating discrimination, preventing violence against women, improving the quality of life of women, respecting working and working women, etc. If the economic role of women is strong, the country's economy will be stable."
