Dhaka, February 6: Pakistan wants to increase relations with Bangladesh. The country said this through various channels. Pakistan's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar raised the matter in a meeting with the last Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen. In response, Momen told her that Bangladesh wants Pakistan to formally apologize for the 1971 genocide. The foreign minister also assured to advocate on their behalf to improve relations if they apologized. However, Hina Rabbani remained silent in response.

After his visit to Sri Lanka, the foreign minister gave this information in response to a question from journalists at the State Guest House Padma on Sunday. Abdul Momen met Pakistan's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar on Saturday on the sidelines of Sri Lanka's 75th Independence Day celebrations.

She avoided the offer of apology to Bangladesh and did not give any reply. But she said, they have some limitations.

When asked about the discussion of that meeting, Momen said, he wants to increase relations with us. As I said, a great way to improve relations is to publicly apologize for the genocide you committed in 1971. If you do this, I will advocate for you, to enhance the relationship.

Journalists want to know how the state minister of foreign affairs of the country was in the minister's speech. Momen said, he avoided, did not give any answer.

Momen said, their behaviour is very positive about enhancing the relationship. They want to have a good relationship with us. Wants to improve relations not only with us but also with India.

In response to the question that Pakistan wants to work with Bangladesh in any sector, Momen said that they want Foreign Office Consultant (FOC). First wants to increase economic relations. We said, you are doing business. Our trade with Pakistan has become one sided. As I said, you have placed many restrictions; There are anti-dumping, remove them.
