Treatment Patients have saved USD 5 million by not travelling abroad, says BSMMU VC
Dhaka, July 20: Dr Md Sharfuddin Ahmed, the vice-chancellor of Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has said that in the last year and a half, patients have saved at least USD five million by not travelling abroad for treatment while opting for the same domestically.
He said that the provision of medical services should be continued in such a way that the patients of the country do not have to go abroad for treatment and urged health workers to treat patients better, while participating in an orientation program for frontline veteran physicians treating coronavirus patients at the block auditorium at BSMMU on Monday (July 19).
Professor Sharfuddin Ahmed said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University has been playing a major role in providing medical services across the country during the Corona epidemic. This trend must continue.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed, convener of the committee formed to set up Covid Field Hospital for the treatment of Corona patients at BSMMU's Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Center, inspected the activities of setting up Covid Field Hospital. During the visit, he sought the progress of the establishment of Covid Field Hospital, provided necessary directions and directed that the work be completed expeditiously.
Meanwhile, through Zoom, BSMMU Vice Chancellor took part in the meeting on 'Automation and Digital Support System Presentation' and in the preparatory meeting on the occasion of Bangabandhu's 46th martyrdom anniversary and in the 'Criteria and Standards of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council for Recognizing Medical'.
