Patuakhali: Three sisters drown while bathing in pond
Dhaka, August 4: In an unfortunate incident, three girls of a family drowned while bathing in a pond in Bangladesh's Patuakhali district.
The mishap took place on Monday in Karpurkathi village of Bauphal Upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Mahfuza 15, and Mariam, 14, and Maria, 11.
While Mahfuza and Mariam are daughters of Mukhlesur Rahman, Maria is the child of Mukhlesur’s younger brother Razzak.
According to the reports, the family began searching for them after they did not return home.
The girls did not know how to swim.
Their bodies were recovered from the pond after locals spotted their shoes and clothes near the bank.
