PM directs police to pay special attention to militancy and terrorism

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, June 22: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the police personnel to pay special attention to the prevention of firearms, drug abuse, militancy and terrorism. She also asked them to serve the people in such a way that the countrymen can consider the police as the last shelter to save their lives.

Inaugurating five development projects of Bangladesh Police on Tuesday, she said, "I think we need to be vigilant at all times. Special attention must be paid to prevent the recurrence of firearms, drug abuse, militancy and terrorism."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing a function to inaugurate five special activities of Bangladesh Police.

She called on the members of the police force to play a role in contributing to the stability of the country, adding that they have been successful in the fight against militancy and terrorism, continued drug eradication, cyber crime / rumors, money laundering, weapons. It continues to play an effective role in ensuring safe roads and protection of state resources, including prevention of smuggling and human trafficking.

She said that special attention should be paid to prevent these from happening again. Because as long as there is peace in the country, we can make economic progress.

Rajarbagh Police Line, Padma Bridge North Police Station, Munshiganj, Women Police Barak, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), Khulna, Mymensingh Police Hospital and Pirojpur District Police Line were connected to Ganobhaban virtually in the event.

The Prime Minister said, "Our country's police force also needs to earn the confidence of the people in such a way that the people feel that the police is their last hope to protect their standard of living. So, they will get that shelter from the police, as a place of trust, the police will have to present themselves in front of the people in that way. That is what you will do. I want you to follow the instructions of the father of the nation."
