PM Hasina sends gifts for West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee ahead of Durga Puja

Dhaka, October 19: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent greetings and gifts to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja.

The Prime Minister's gift was sent to India through the Benapole checkpost on Sunday (October 18) at noon.

That evening, Deputy High Commissioner of the Bangladesh High Commission in Kolkata, Tawfiq Hasan, handed over the gift to the West Bengal Chief Minister's Office, Nabanna.

Mostafizur Rahman Rubel, C&F agent representative of Benapole, said, "I took the gifts sent to the West Bengal Chief Minister from Benapole checkpost around 12 noon and delivered them to Petrapole checkpost on the other side."

Benapole Immigration Checkpost OC Ahsan Habib said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's gifts were sent to Benapole through Ataur Rahman, Chief Protocol Officer of the Prime Minister's Office. Alam Hossain, Assistant Secretary to the First Secretary of the Bangladesh Sub-High Commission in Kolkata, was already in Petrapole to receive it."

BM Jamal Hossain (Political), Deputy Commissioner of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, told local reporters that the gift items sent by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Kolkata in the evening. Later the gift items were delivered to the office of the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
