Stating that Bangladesh is always ready to work for peace in the world, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon the whole world to work together to tackle the Kovid-19 epidemic।

She made the call while addressing a discussion meeting on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the historic speech delivered by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Bengal at the UN General Assembly and the inauguration of the newly constructed building of the Foreign Service Academy.

The Prime Minister said, "Bangladesh has always wanted peace in the world. In different parts of the world, where there are conflicts of all kinds, our armed forces, the police force, everyone is playing a special role in the UN peacekeeping mission."

Asking for the souls of the members of the various forces who gave their lives while working in the peacekeeping mission, the Prime Minister said, "Bangladesh is always ready to establish this peace. We want peace in the world."

"We want the wheel of the economy to move again and all people to be able to lead a normal life," he said. That is why everyone has to work in unity. The whole world must work together."

The Prime Minister also highlighted various initiatives taken by the government to ensure the development of the country and the beautiful life of the people.

He said, "The most important thing is our food. Because I know that coronavirus can cause famine in the world. But in Bangladesh, the famine should not be touched in any way. So we continue to try to produce as much food as we can, distribute food, give free food to the poor and ensure food security."

Stating that other economic activities of the country would continue in a limited manner, Sheikh Hasina said, "Our GDP target of going above 7.2 per cent was not possible for us." This time we have achieved like 5.24 percent. But we hope that in the future our growth we will be able to achieve more. And we are working towards that."

Speaking on the Father of the Nation's dream of building a 'hunger-free, poverty-free Bangladesh', Bangabandhu Kanya said, "We had reduced the poverty rate to 20.5 percent. We want to reduce more. We want to give a beautiful life to every person in Bangladesh. '
