Dhaka, Jan 29: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the history of Bangladesh should be known and the constitution should be imbibed. Parliament Rules of Procedure should be read. Our Parliament is a Westminster type Parliament. So, Parliament practices should be known very well.

She said these things while opening the meeting with independent MPs at Ganabhaban on Sunday evening. Jatiya Sangsad Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury is conducting the meeting.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the projects which are meaningful for the people of the country are accepted. If there is any landless, homeless in the constituencies of individual MPs, houses will be built for them. Zero tolerance against fire terrorism will continue. Corruption will not be tolerated. The meeting was chaired by Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury. The Prime Minister's press wing has confirmed this information.

It should be noted that the 12th National Parliament election was held on January 7. In that election Awami League got single majority by getting 223 seats. Besides, Jatiya Party won 11 seats and Workers Party, Jasad and Kalyan Party won one seat each. Apart from this, 62 independent candidates have won the election. Fifty-eight of the independent MPs are directly associated with Awami League. Since the long-time leaders of Awami League are independent candidates, independent MPs are confused about what their role will be in Parliament.
