Dhaka, September 1: Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that Bangladesh has gone digital, the post office must also go digital. The days of postage are not over, they are increasing.

He said, the post office has now become a reliable institution for digital commerce. The path of post office digitization is being designed to establish a suitable postal system for the digital era. Apart from digitizing the postal system, we have started the work of digitizing the post office by imparting digital skills to the 45,000 employees. As a result, the basis for digitization of production-oriented activities has been created.

The minister said these things while inspecting the construction work of the main post office under construction at Gazipur district headquarters on Thursday (September 1). At that time, Postmaster General Farid Ahmed, Gazipur ADC (General) Nasreen Parveen and related officials of Postal Department were present.

Pointing out the importance of digitizing the post office as a subsidiary of digital commerce, the minister said, "Our big challenge was to take the distressed postal service to a better position as the era of letters is over. We did it."

Pointing out that no other institution in the country has the vast infrastructure and manpower of the post office nationwide, the minister said, starting from frozen food, the post office has no alternative to deliver the daily necessities to the customers in remote and inaccessible areas. During the Corona period, farmers have delivered fruits and vegetables to medical equipment.
