Prime Minister hands over Bangla Academy Literary Award

Dhaka, February 2: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the winners of the 'Bangla Academy Literary Award-2022' after inaugurating the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.

On the opening stage of the book fair, the awards were presented to the Bangla Academy literature awardees this year. 15 people received Bangla Academy Literary Award-2022 for their contribution in various fields of literature.

For 2022, Farooq Mahmud and Tariq Sujat in poetry, Tapas Majumdar and Parvez Hossain in fiction, Masuduzzaman in essay or research, Alam Khorshed in translation, Milan Kanti Dey and Farid Ahmad Dulal in drama, Dhruv Esh in children's literature, Muhammad Shamsul Haque in research on liberation war, Subhash Singh Roy in research on Bangabandhu. , Mokaram Hossain in Science or Science Fiction or Environment, Iqtiar Chowdhury in Autobiography or Memoir or Travelogue and Abdul Khalek and Muhammad Abdul Jalil got the award in Folklore.

State Minister for Culture KM Khalid was the special guest under the chairmanship of fiction writer Selina Hossain, President of Bangla Academy. Sheikh Rehana, the youngest daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was present at the event.

Besides, the Director General of Bangla Academy, Muhammad Nurul Huda, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Abul Mansoor, and the President of Book Publishers Association Arifur Rahman Choton were present there.
