Dhaka, September 15: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka this morning on an official visit to the United Kingdom and the United States to attend the funeral of late Queen Elizabeth II and the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), respectively.

A VVIP chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage left Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:35 am.

The flight is scheduled to arrive at London Stansted International Airport at 16:45 local time. Saida Muna Tasnim, High Commissioner of Bangladesh in UK will welcome her at the airport.

On the second day of the visit, on September 16, Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at his hotel. Later, UK Minister for South Asia, North Africa, United Nations and Commonwealth Affairs Lord Ahmed will meet the Prime Minister. On September 17, Sir Keir Starmer, Leader of the UK Opposition and Labour Party, will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will also attend a royal reception for heads of state and government at Buckingham Palace on September 18.

On September 19, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey. The Prime Minister will leave London for New York on a special flight of Bangladesh Biman in the evening of the same day.

The Prime Minister will be welcomed at the John F Kennedy International Airport by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States, Muhammad Imran, and the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, Muhammad Abdul Muhith.

On September 20, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend a reception hosted by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. She will also attend the opening ceremony of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

She will also hold bilateral meetings with UNHCR's Filippo Grandi and Slovenian President Borut Pahor. On the same day, she will also join the Platform of Women Leaders at the United Nations. At the end of the day, the Prime Minister will also attend a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden.

On September 21, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the High Level Sustainable Housing Program organized by Bangladesh, Botswana, Slovak Republic and the United Nations.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will visit the photo exhibition of the Padma Bridge at the UN Headquarters and will then hold bilateral meetings with the President of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, the President of Ecuador Guillermo Alberto Santiago Lasso Mendoza and Rabab Fatima.

On September 23, the Prime Minister will address the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. On September 24, she will attend the civic reception of expatriate Bangladeshis.
