Prime Minister Hasina recites Fateha at Bangabandhu's grave in Tungipara

Dhaka, July 4: After inaugurating the Padma Bridge on June 25, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina crossed the bridge for the first time on Monday and visited her ancestral home at Tungipara in Gopalganj by road. She also prayed at the grave of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Accompanied by her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recited Fateha and joined in the prayers for peace of the departed souls of the Father of the Nation and other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 massacre.

Sheikh Hasina and her family members were also wished good health and longevity and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country.

Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister MM Imrul Kayes said.

Earlier, the Prime Minister paid homage to the Father of the Nation by laying a wreath at his grave.

After laying the wreath, she stood there in silence for a while as a token of respect for the memory of the great architect of independence. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was brutally murdered on the black night of 15 August 1975 at the hands of some misguided army members along with most of his family members.

Earlier, the Prime Minister reached Tungipara in Gopalganj at around 11.40 pm. On her way to Tungipara, Sheikh Hasina rested with her family members in the service area of ​​Jazira Point.
