Prime Minister Hasina treating Ashrayan project as an act of worship

Dhaka, September 20: The Prime Minister has taken the project of giving free land and houses to the homeless poor landless people of the country as an act of worship. Such programs to build houses with land for poor and landless people are rare not only in Bangladesh but all over the world.

Addressing the concerned officials, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus added, "We are all proud to have the opportunity to participate in the Ashrayan Project."

"I have had the opportunity to do a lot of good work in my life as a government employee, but I have never done a better job in my life than being involved in the Ashrayan Project. Being involved in this work has made my career successful," he said while inspecting the project in Maijdihi area of Kalapur Union in Srimangal Upazila on Sunday (September 19) afternoon.

Dr. Ahmed Kaikaus toured the site. During this time, he exchanged greetings with the beneficiaries living in 50 houses of the project and inquired about them. In response, the beneficiaries thanked the PM's Chief Secretary for visiting their project area from the Prime Minister's Office.

The Chief Secretary inspected the houses constructed under the Asrayan project and appreciated its construction work.

On the occasion of the Chief Secretary's visit, several projects jointly adopted by the Upazila Agriculture, Youth Development and Animal Resources Offices were launched to improve the living standards of the project beneficiaries. The Secretary inaugurated these projects.

These projects will work in agriculture, cattle rearing, sewing training to improve the living standards of the beneficiaries of the shelter project. Through this, the beneficiaries will get the opportunity of self-employment with easy loan facility after completing the necessary training, the concerned said.
