Dhaka, May 31: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday recited Fateha at the grave of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj. Accompanied by the Prime Minister and her sister and Bangabandhu's youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana, she recited the Fateha and participated in the munajat praying for the forgiveness of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 massacre.

Wishing good health and longevity to Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana and their family members as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country.

The Prime Minister also visited the graves of her grandparents and Bangabandhu's father Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and mother Sheikh Sahera Khatun at Tungipara.

On this day in 1974, on the occasion of the death anniversary of the late Prime Minister's grandmother, a prayer and milad mahfil was held at the Bangabandhu Samadhi Soudha Complex Mosque after the Johar prayers. The Prime Minister along with her family members and relatives took part in the prayers and milad mahfil from the house of the Father of the Nation at the grave. Earlier, she paid homage to Bangabandhu by laying a wreath at his tomb.

After laying the wreath, he stood there in silence for a while as a token of deep respect for the memory of the great architect of independence.
